About DI Square Corp.

DI Square Corp. is a Tokyo-based software and consultancy provider with an in-house software development department. They have produced a comprehensive information system called Sports Core. Sports Core incorporates sports information data feeds from various providers and supplies vital information to sports journalists and readers. One of the main users of Sports Core is Nikkan Henshu Center Co.,Ltd., a major Japanese sports data provider, which was seeking to automate media coverage of European soccer leagues in Japanese.  DI Square is excited to become a leading provider of journalism created via Natural Language Generation for the Japanese media market.

When I first learned of Wordsmith, I was fascinated by the solution and its capabilities. By partnering with Automated Insights, we are proud to be one of the pioneers of automation in Japan.

Leading the Way

DI Square’s Director, Minoru Habu, is excited about being one of the first Japanese adopters of Wordsmith.  “When I first learned of Wordsmith, I was fascinated by the solution and its capabilities. By partnering with Automated Insights, we are proud to be one of the pioneers of automation in Japan.”

The ability to generate soccer match recaps quickly, and at a scale impossible to recreate with people alone, really appealed to DI Square. According to Habu, “It used to take between 10-15 minutes for a human to write a single soccer match recap. With Wordsmith, each recap is generated within a second.”

Looking Ahead

When asked what the future of automation looks like at DI Square, Habu replied “We can envision using Wordsmith to generate recaps for even more sporting events. Recaps for Japanese baseball, basketball and golf tournaments are among the early candidates for expanded use.”

Automated Insights is thrilled to be working with such an industry pioneer. We look forward to sharing more about DI Square and other partner organizations in the coming months.
