Vivint is a leading smart home technology provider that offers affordable home security, energy management, home automation, local cloud storage, and high-speed internet solutions to more than one million customers throughout the United States and Canada. Vivint uses Automated Insights to create highly localized website copy to support the Vivint Smart Home product and service line offerings.

The Challenge

Vivint understands the impact localized content can have on customers. In addition to providing a more personalized customer experience, providing localized and relevant content helps improve organic search results and increases the likelihood of converting site visitors into paying customers. Localized content also directly supports Vivint’s retail partner network by providing information that guides customers searching for smart home solutions to nearby brick and mortar locations.

However, in an industry where the technology evolves every few months, Vivint couldn’t afford to wait for a team of outsourced writers to produce all of the content that was needed. According to Jacob Parry, Digital Marketing Manager at Vivint Smart Home, “We needed to create highly localized copy for 12,000 unique web pages, which we calculated would take a team of human writers over two years to complete at a cost outside of our budget.” Vivint needed a faster, more affordable alternative.

The personalized content also resulted in a swift increase in sales. Within three months of deploying the personalized content, local search-based monthly sales surged an astonishing 5X over the same time period of the prior year, easily outpacing their sales goals.
