Robbie Allen, Founder & CEO

Prior to founding Automated Insights, Inc. (StatSheet), Robbie was a Distinguished Engineer, IT at Cisco where he worked for 13 years. During his time at Cisco, Robbie led large-scale IT architecture projects that involved overhauling Cisco's internal infrastructure to a cloud-based solution. He managed teams from 5 to 40 people that developed complex network management software. Just before leaving the company, Robbie designed advanced protocols for Cisco's core router platforms.

Prior to Cisco, Robbie worked at IBM in the Networking Hardware Division and at Lucent in a variety of software engineering positions. Robbie received a BS in Computer Science and a minor in Math from East Carolina University (magna cum laude). He has Masters degrees from MIT in Engineering Management and Civil & Environmental Engineering.

He is the author of ten books on a variety of technical topics from O'Reilly, Apress and Addison-Wesley. Robbie has been very active in the startup community for over ten years. He's served as an advisor and mentor to numerous startups and entrepreneurs.

Scott Frederick is the Chief Operating Officer of Automated Insights, Inc. where he oversees the company's strategy as well as their sales, marketing and business development initiatives.

Prior to joining Automated Insights, Scott was a venture capitalist for over 13 years. Most recently, he was a Co-Founder and General Partner at Valhalla Partners (a firm with $440 million under management). Prior to co-founding Valhalla Partners in 2002, Scott was a Partner at FBR Technology Venture Partners ("FBRTVP"). Scott joined FBRTVP in 1997 as its second employee, and in doing so played a key role in the creation and management of one of the Mid-Atlantic region's most successful venture capital funds. During Scott's tenure, the FBRTVP funds produced seven IPOs, and FBRTVP I realized returns of approximately nine times invested capital.

Scott is a former Director of the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association ("MAVA") and co- founded the Young mid-Atlantic Venture Association ("YAVA"), serving as its first President and Chairman. Scott received a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School in 1994 (cum laude) and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Duke University in 1991 (magna cum laude), where he was an A.B. Duke Scholar.

Adam Smith manages business operations for Automated Insights, Inc. He is also heavily involved in company strategy and product initiatives, running mobile and video for AI.

Prior to joining StatSheet, Adam was a VP at Square 1 Bank, where he served as Director of a National Division called Square Roots. Adam was recruited by Square 1 to design, develop and launch Square Roots, which focused on pre-vc startups. As part of the program, he worked one-on-one with hundreds of early-stage founders, serving as an advisor providing hands on support with strategy, hiring, operations, sales and fundraising.

Prior to joining Square 1, Adam was Vice President of the Council for Entrepreneurial Development, the largest entrepreneurial support organization in the nation. While at CED, he led a team for The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation that authored the FastTrac TechVenture program, a world-renowned training and mentoring program for technology and life science entrepreneurs.

Adam is heavily involved with the North Carolina entrepreneurial community and a rabid fan of UNC sports.

Joe

Joe Procopio develops the science that powers the artificial intelligence for Automated Insights, Inc, and leads a team of technologists, statisticians, analysts, and writers. Prior to joining Automated Insights, Joe Procopio founded consulting firm Intrepid Company, which he grew to just under $1 million in annual revenue in three years.

Prior to founding his own firm, Joe served in management roles with several startups including Motricity, Interpath, and SilverStream Software. Before that, he had the rare opportunity to lead high profile technical and product development engagements for American Express, BASF, McAfee, and others as a principal consultant for Financial Dynamics.

Joe writes a weekly column for TechJournal South, and has written for Startup America, Gamasutra, the Chicago Tribune, and several other publications. In his spare time, he runs writer community Intrepid Media and popular startup community ExitEvent. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University.
